I'm in love!!!

My mission to get organized and a spic and span clean house is going so well and I owe it all to Jen! She's awesome! I heart her! She has such wonderful suggestions and ideas on how to get your house organized and clean. She helped me come up with a Guishard Family cleaning schedule that has really helped me a ton! We have gotten so many things cleaned and found new systems for so many things in our house it makes me giddy! (what can I say I am the mother of 3 who doesn't get out much!) Check out her etsy shop for your own cleaning list or other great items!

What I did this week

I am a person who does better with positive reinforcement. As I stated in a previous post I am on a mission this summer to get my house really clean and organized. As an update I have been doing really well! The problem comes when Gish comes home from work and I try to share everything I have done. He typically smiles and says wow babe that looks great. But somehow he seems to lack the enthusiasm I require to feel like he gets it. I mean taking care of 3 kids , this week and last week 4, and getting organized is HUGE! So I decided instead of being bummed when he doesn't recognize my efforts and accomplishments I am going to do it myself! So I hope to give myself a pat on the back every Friday or Saturday of what I did that got my closer to reaching my goal and being able to say Mission Accomplished at the end of the summer! Now some weeks this maybe a short list and all that it might state is I showered everyday but if your a mom like me you know that taking a shower is a BIG DEAL And since I am probably the only one who reads this I won't be boring anyone or calling my Mom brag that I cleaned my fridge.
This week I...
  1. Cleaned the Fridge (as in I took out every shelf and drawer)
  2. Washed out comforters
  3. Began the process of cleaning our oven
  4. Decluttered our hutch
  5. Cleaned the kids shoe shelf
  6. Decluttered junk draw number 1
  7. Trimmed the front bushes
  8. Cleaned and decluttered my nightstand
  9. Clipped and organized coupons
  10. Organized the kids craft bin
In addition I also cooked all our preplanned dinners, made lunches at home, took care of a 3 year old little boy and baked red velvet white chocolate chip cookies.

When does you baby girl

stop being your actually baby girl and become a big girl? In my case this will probably never happen, but today she got a bit closer. I couldn't help but think on all the growing she's done while we played a round of Go Fish.
It is bittersweet! I am so excited about all the fun things we get to share and do now that she's growing into her own little person but I am also sad that soon I'll blink and she'll be hating me as teen and soon after that she will be out on her own.

Don't forget to feed your worms?

Say what?! Yup that's what we're doing here at the Guishard household, hatching earthworms. Ava got this kit from a friend for her birthday.
Our earthworms finally arrived :D!

It is a pretty easy project to get these babies ready to hatch.
First you add water to the provided soil
Then you wait 5 minutes and squish it all up so it soaks up the water.

Crunch it all up so it gets nice and moist.
Dump it into the nursery tray and starting working with the earthworm cocoons.
Submerge your earthworms in room temp water for 30 minutes. While you wait take the little
squirt thingy (not technical term) and put 20 squirts into the larva pod. There should be enough to cover the earthworms with water.

After the 30 minutes are up your going to rinse the pods in warm water until they cocoons disappear.
Don't mind the mud in your sink you can always wash that later and then disinfect your sponge in the microwave.

Put the pods into their hatching pod and wait till they hatch.
It can take up to 3 weeks so be patient.

Another Pinterest Creation

I guess my summer will be filled with APC (Another Pinterest Creation) because I keep finding stuff I have to do or make! I just finished this sign.
IF you know me you know I can't really spell better than a 1st grade level. This sign will go up in my classroom. It orginally looked like this but will a little chalkboard paint and chalk in I was able to remake the sign from pinterest :D
